Meherin House Restoration

A wise person once said, “The only way to preserve history is to share it!” We cannot do that without your help.

In 2001, the Friends of Price House worked with the City of Pismo Beach and negotiated the use of park fees to once again move the Meherin House. It was moved to its forever home, the Price Historical Park where it joined the Anniversary House, the home of Mary Ann’s parents, John and Andrea Price.

Restoration began with a new foundation, roof, multiple repairs everywhere, a fresh coat of paint on the exterior, and most recently the installation of windows that are replicas of the originals.

With the exterior work complete, restoration can now focus on the interior. This restoration plan will be completed in four stages: Electrical, Plumbing, Drywall, and lastly, Interior Finishes.

While restoring an old house can be the most rewarding experience in the world, it can also cost a pretty penny to preserve the historic, architectural, and aesthetic character of the home which then becomes an important part of the community’s heritage.

Historic buildings tell stories about what the community was and how it became what it is. Those stories help us to understand who we are.

Once the restoration is complete, we will then be able to share the history of this home by inviting people to visit the park and have a tour of the home. They will hear docents tell the stories of the people who lived there.

Will you please consider making a gift toward the restoration today?

Every donation counts, no matter what size. Your donation will make an impact on the achievement of our goal to restore this beautiful home. The money will be carefully spent to help preserve the historic, architectural, and aesthetic character of the home.
